TRANSFORMING OUR WORLD: SDGs to Ensure No One Left Behind

The UNGA Conference 2016 aims to create awareness on the Global Agenda 2030 to mobilize the CSOs and private sector to collaborate with governments. This platform gathers experts and practitioners to discuss 17 Goals and 169 Targets in the implementation and accountability for sustainable development. The UNGA Conference provides a global perspective on the “Future We Want” and announces the champions of the SDGs to present the successful policy implementations. The UNGA Conference ensures that the active participation of the private sector and the civil society organizations is crucial for the implementation of SDGs.
The United Nations and all Member States agreed upon the Sustainable Development Goals in consultation with the private sector and the civil society organizations. In this respect, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) has received wide recognition as one of the means of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The national governments should work collaboratively with the private sector and civil society organizations to secure the future we want for present and future generations.
Before the UNGA Conference, the UNGA High-Level Reception will be held at Roosevelt on 20 September 2016 at 6:30pm-9:00pm. The UNGA High-Level Reception aims to highlight the importance of PPP in the implementation of tasks highlighted in the UNGA Resolutions.
The Journalists and Writers Foundation (JWF) and the Peace Islands Institute (PII) is proud to gather government officials with the private sector, civil society organizations and educational institutions in order to serve as a platform for this broad alliance towards the implementation of the Global Agenda 2030.
