H.E. Dipu Moni

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs

H.E.-Dipu-MoniDr. Dipu Moni, MBBS (DMC), LLB (NU), LLM (London), MPH (Johns Hopkins), is a Bangladeshi politician and the current Foreign Minister of Bangladesh. Dr. Moni is the first woman to become the foreign minister of a South Asian country. Prior to her appointment as the country’s top diplomat, Dr. Moni was elected to the Bangladesh parliament in the 2008 general elections from her home district of Chandpur. She has also served as the Secretary of Women Affairs and as a member of the Sub-Committee on Foreign Affairs of her party, the Bangladesh Awami League. A highly educated medical doctor by profession, Dipu Moni is also a lawyer and Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
